Joan MacNaughton

Joan MacNaughton is an influential figure in the energy and climate policy debate, having been Director General of Energy in the UK. She is Executive Chair of the World Energy Trilemma for the World Energy Council. From 2004 to 2006, MacNaughton was Chair of the Governing Board of the IEA, before leading Alstom’s policy department until 2011. In 2012 she was Vice Chair of the UN High Level Panel on the CDM. MacNaughton is a Past President of the Energy Institute, Chair of the Energy Academy of Europe International Advisory Board, an IETA Fellow, and Trustee of the Climate Group.
