The Group has an installed capacity of 45,000 MW (24,500 MW renewables) and a balanced, efficient and diversified generation mix (60% of the total Group production is emission-free). Moreover, nearly two thirds of its installed capacity is emissions free, as a result of which the Company´s per kWh emissions level is already 30% below the sector average in Europe. In the framework of COP 21, Iberdrola has set a new environmental objective of reducing by at least 50% its CO2 emissions intensity compared to 2007 in 2030 and, furthermore, becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
The Company has been also recognized as one of the most ethical companies in the world by the Ethisphere Institute and has been recently selected as the European utility with the best corporate governance practices by Ethical Boardroom. Also Iberdrola received the Golden Peacock Award for excellence in corporate governance and the Responsible Capitalism international award 2014.
